hardness of glass
Dec 12, 2024
According to the Mohs hardness scale, the hardness of glass is 6.5. The higher the hardness, the better the wear resistance. Commonly used hardness indicators are Brinell hardness, Rockwell hardness and Vickers hardness.
The molecular arrangement of glass is random, and its molecules are statistically uniform in space. Under ideal conditions, the physical and chemical properties of homogeneous glass (such as refractive index, hardness, elastic modulus, coefficient of thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, etc.) are the same in all directions.
